OBJECTIVES: On the cognitive level, the student is expected to understand and retain factual and accurate information on the five main geographic themes: location, place, human-environment interaction, movement and regions. Furthermore, he is expected to develope critical thinking skills that will enable him to make practical and funcitonal use of acquired geographical knowledge. It is also hoped that the students will develop a healthy curiosity and desire to keep abreast with current world events, even long after this course is done. On the psychomotor level, the students is expected to possess the basic skills of map reading and interpretaiton. He is also expected to be able to perform activities, individually and in groups, that are geared to develop geographic skills that accomodate for individual learning styles . . . and effectively verbalize this learning through speech and writing. On the affective level, the student is expected to develop an attitude that is open, unbiased, tolerant, and even appreciateve, of cultures different from his own. In the end, it is hoped that the student of geography willhave developed a healthy pride and a shared responsibility in belonging to this one "global village" that is Planet Earth. . . an attitude that will hopefully lead to a deeper reverence for God the Creator and all his creation. |

METHODS OF
EVALUATION: The final grade for each quarter will be reflect two-thirds of the daily average and one-third of the quarter exams. Daily average will include credits from assignments, quizzes, chapter tests, group work, reports, tec . . . as well as demerits (deductions) for late/missing work, etc. |
